We are delighted to inform you that University College London is in a pre-payment agreement with Frontiers

UCL is able to cover open access fees for authors publishing in Frontiers journals provided that certain eligibility criteria are met.

UPDATE:  UK Research Council funded authors wishing to submit to Frontiers journals after 31 December 2018 should ensure the availability of alternative funds. UCL’s 2018/19 institutional fund for Gold open access is fully expended. Any author from the institution funded by the COAF medical charities (e.g. Wellcome Trust) where the grant is held at UCL will remain eligible for funding.

If you have any questions please contact the UCL Open Access Team or visit the About Open Access information page.

Eligible papers include:

  • Research articles and uninvited review articles acknowledging UCL-held UK Research Councils or COAF (including Wellcome Trust)
  • Research articles and uninvited review articles that are unfunded, or whose funders do not provide funding for Gold open access. The corresponding author of these articles must be a full and current UCL staff member (not honorary) or student at the time that charges are incurred.

Please contact UCL’s Open Access Team for further details, and to ensure that your article is eligible to use the prepayment account.

For information on Frontiers’ institutional agreements please visit our institutional membership page or contact institutions@frontiersin.org to discuss the possibilities for your organisation.
